Behind every project

is the passion for quality.

About

I am Andreas Bhend, a designer living with my wife and my daughter in Baden, Switzerland. Since 2016 I run my own design studio, specialized in product design and product visuals. After my training as a CAD engineer and my graduation as a product designer from FHNW Switzerland I gained several years of experience working in different studios and the industrial sector. I founded my own design studio to focus on my passion for product design and product visuals.

I am the proud owner of a red dot concept award. My work has been shown worldwide in several exhibitions by Cooper Hewitt New York, MOMA London, Broehan-Museum Berlin, Centre national des arts plastiques Paris, MAK Vienna and the Schaudepot Zurich.

Where I come from

All started with a black book.

When I was a kid my father worked as a mechanic and developed a lot of ideas and designs for his employer. It was the biggest company in the village, famous for its houseware products. My father kept all his designs as polaroid photos in a black book.

He was always proud to show me the pictures or even the real products and I was fascinated to hear all the stories about the difficulties of the development.

Later, my father started working at an injection molding company and worked less in the field of product development.

What has remained of this time is the black book and my passion for product development.

This is the origin of my motivation to complete an apprenticeship as an CAD engineer with a technical baccalaureate as a foundation for my studies in industrial design. After graduation and a few years of professional experience I finally started my own design studio in 2016.

I am very grateful for the passion and support my dad gave me during all this time.
